Slava and Sarah Slavik
Slava Slavik Photography is a family portrait and wedding photography studio run by Slava and Sarah Slavik. We were born in the Czech Republic and came to the United States in 2004. Our photography studio was opened several months later; however, our careers in photography started a long time ago. Slava co-founded, and managed for ten years, a graphics and digital photography software company; and Sarah worked as a freelance graphic designer. Former jobs aside, our photography started with us just making portraits for our friends. We started photographing weddings just for fun, and eventually, we realized that one day we would like to run a professional photography studio together. Our dreams came true right after we moved to the USA.
Several professional photographers have helped us to shape our photography skills and adapt to the US market. We would like to mention some of them. Slava received free comprehensive training in portrait photography from the acclaimed family and children photographer in Augusta, GA, Michael O'Byrne. We both received great help regarding studio portraits and operating a studio from the photography business guru, Roger Berg. In 2006 and 2007, we cooperated with and received tremendous help from an Atlanta wedding photographer, Craig Willes, who is also the author of our portrait on this page. In 2010 Slava trained with Cliff Mautner, one of the world's top ten wedding photographers by American Photo, who is based in the Philadelphia area.
We have been together since November 1992.
Our wedding day was July 20, 1996.
We have two kids, Katie (1997) and John (1999).
Odd fact: Be ready for our funny accent :)
