For Nicole and Morgan, the wedding started two days before the official date when we all met on the grounds of the LDS Temple for their wedding portraits.

On the wedding day, we completed formal portraits with families and the wonderful wedding party in almost 100 degree weather. It was great that everyone was so cooperative and remained positive despite the blistering heat.

The wedding also gave us an opportunity to visit another interesting and unique reception venue: the Atlanta National Golf Club. The staff at Atlanta National Golf Club thankfully lent our couple and the wedding party several golf carts to help traverse the grounds, allowing us to explore photo opportunities all over the course. This method of transportation proved to be an exciting treat.

We’d like to give a personal thank you to Morgan and Nicole for giving us a tour of their Temple. The Atlanta LDS Temple was open to the public for a few weeks after completion and before the re-dedication, and we were lucky enough to see inside. Thank you, it was a truly unique opportunity.

We were happy to return to the Berry College campus on this day as we could revisit some of the most prominent and photographic landmarks: the old Gate of Opportunity and the Ford Complex, for portraits, Frost Chapel, for the ceremony, and the WinShape Retreat, for the reception. The Georgia weather was very temperamental, as usual, and we weren’t certain at first if we would be able to do the portraits outdoors. Thankfully, the sky cleared up and the sun came out just in time.

Meredith and Daniel agreed to take their portraits before the ceremony. As photographers we love this new trend because we are able to spend more time with the couple seeking the best shots. We often photograph some of what we consider to be our strongest work in these scenarios, and this wedding was no exception.

Frost Chapel, Berry College, Rome GA:

Our bride prepared for her nuptials at the St. Regis Atlanta before heading to the house for the ceremony, and finally, the Atlanta History Center’s Grand Overlook Ballroom for the reception. There was a definite element of excitement during the proceedings as there seemed to be a summer storm brewing the entire ceremony. Aside from a few strong gusts of wind, however, the storm kept to the sky; and at the end, the clouds parted ways and gave us some nice light for our portraits.

A Fox Theatre wedding celebration has been a dream of our couple, Michelle and Matt, for years and that dream finally came true April 9, 2011.

The couple met for their pre-ceremony portraits at the Georgian Terrace Hotel in Midtown Atlanta. There, we captured their moments of preparation and some really nice portraits of the couple before joining with the rest of the wedding party at the Fox Theatre for more single and group portraits.

The ceremony took place at the nearby Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Peachtree Street. Afterwards, all guests returned to the Fox Theatre for a very exciting reception highlighted by the band Moxie.

The wedding went smoothly thanks to Erin Stroup from the wedding and event planning company It’s All in the Details located in Atlanta, who also designed and coordinated a truly unique and very attractive reception.

We’d like to give thanks to all of the very helpful staff at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, especially to Mr. Jim Lane, who allowed us after hours access on more than one occasion in order to scout locations and rehearse lighting inside the Fox.

Congratulations Michelle and Matt! We were so glad to be a part of your special day.

We first met Lauren when she was a bridesmaid at her cousin Whitney’s wedding in 2009. Even though we were photographing some familiar faces, this was a wedding of firsts for us. For this wedding, we shot at four different locations: the Hilton Homewood Suites, Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in downtown Lawrenceville, Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, and Little Gardens. All of these locations were new to us except for Little Gardens. Four locations was also a new challenge for us as wedding photographers. Lauren and Rob make a lovely couple, and the photos came out beautifully.

We shot their outdoor portraits around sundown. It was a little chilly, but the lighting was sunny and worked well for the shoot. Downtown Lawrenceville was full of surprising and delightful backgrounds for the shots, and we would love to shoot there again in the future!

Lauren with her cousin Whitney. We met Lauren at Whitney’s wedding at Neverland Farms in November 2009. The girls are very close.

This bridal portrait was taken in the dining hall at the Hilton Homewood Suites.

Even though the wedding party was quite large, 10 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen, they were all so friendly and fun.

The approach to the venue consists of about a mile long dirt road through the woods, before it opens like a hidden gem to reveal horse-filled pastures and breath-taking scenery:

Pictured here is the set up for the ceremony. The building on the right is Nora’s Hall, where the groom prepares for the nuptials and the guests gather for refreshments while they await the main event:

Dan’s Hall is where the receptions are held. It is an open air venue so it provides a shaded outdoor feel. It can also be heated by several fire pits on colder evenings if necessary:

There is a very special cabin on the property where the brides and bridesmaids may change for the ceremony. It is a lovely space and we have captured so many nice bridal portraits at this location:

A big part of the Neverland Farms experience is the option for the bride to enter and exit the ceremony via a romantic horse-drawn carriage:

The bride and groom are not the only ones with the option to take a carriage ride. The carriage is also available to guests during the cocktail hour.

Neverland Farms has one of the best backdrops for family portraits, just a very short walk from the location of the ceremony. We always find good light in this spot and the pictures never cease to impress:

Which composition of the next two frames do you like better?

We wanted to mention one thing that is truly unique to this venue—we have never seen it anywhere else—and that is a mobile cake. The wedding cake is prepared and placed on display at the reception, until it is time for the cake cutting, at which point it is rolled to a stage area so the bride and groom can be front and center for their special moment:

Here we have captured a moment between our bride, Breanne, and Suzy Tebor, the heart and soul of Neverland Farms. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, Suzy is a major part of making the experience here so special for our couples:

Emily-Rose and Alex met us on their wedding day at the Vines. We spent about an hour with them there before the wedding party joined us for more pictures. It was perhaps the most fun-loving wedding party we’ve had an opportunity to work with. You guys were incredible!

We were given the honor of photographing the beautiful wedding of Allison and Timothy. Even though the couple gave us plenty of time before the ceremony for their portraits, we were only able to utilize a fraction of the nice spots Dunaway Gardens has to offer. The portrait possibilities there are so overwhelming, and we hope to photograph more weddings or portraits at this one of a kind place in the future!
