To our many clients, family, friends, and colleagues -

Thanks for coming back to our website and blog to find out more about our photography services and perspectives.

It’s a pleasure to share with you all our great news – we have just closed the books on 2010, our most successful wedding year ever! Despite the tough economic times, we were entrusted to photograph 33 weddings – many of which were sophisticated affairs with expansive photography collections. Certainly, there was much more to the 2010 wedding season than just photographing weddings and meeting great clients. We were also hired for many engagement and family portrait sessions, several commercial photo shoots, and immersed ourselves in extensive post-processing, album layouts and productions, our own in-house printing, pre-wedding photography concept designs, location scouting – and, of course, our busy family life!

We’re Growing – and on the Move!
One thing that’s become clear to us – with more client projects, we’re going to need some expert help. Currently, we are searching for a full-time professional to help with post-processing and client communications. We’re not only growing, we’re on the move, too! In March, our business will move to a new office and a showroom in Kennesaw. In addition to giving us more space, the new location will be more convenient for clients who come to see us for pre-wedding meetings and album consultations.

Updates Coming Soon!
Before the main wedding season starts up again in April, we are going to spend lots of time on enhancing our website portfolio and our Facebook page. We will also add many previous weddings and engagement posts to our blog from the second half of 2010. Stay tuned to see the great stories and results.

Thank You!
We’re happy to report that – for the second year in a row – we’ve just received the Best of Weddings award from leading bridal magazine The Knot. The award is based on the reviews posted by real brides on theknot.com website. We are really pleased to earn this award, especially because it’s our policy not to solicit any reviews. Thank you so much to everybody who posted their nice words about us and for investing valuable time to share their experiences with Slava Slavik Photography.

2010 was great year and we just know that 2011 will be even better. After all, No. 11 is Slava’s lucky number!

It’s great to welcome you to our new, totally redesigned website for our wedding and portrait photography business. Although we are still booking a heavy schedule, we felt our old site didn’t convey the style and look of our recent portraits and wedding photographs. As the main wedding season draws to a close, we finally found the time to revamp our online presentation and catch up with the blog.

Despite the prevailing trend among professional photographers to present a main Flash site for the portfolio and another site with a blog, we wanted to keep both under one roof using simple HTML to optimize their accessibility for search engines.

If you’ve been here previously, you’ve probably already noticed the biggest changes: the new site is wider to showcase bigger pictures up to 800 pixels wide (or 830 pixels on the home page), and the page background is almost white to provide a “lighter” feeling. The look is more unified, the navigation is streamlined, and the new blog now uses the popular WordPress engine allowing us to include comments—we’d love to hear from you. Most of our portfolio has been updated with our latest work from 2009.

It’s been an exciting project that has kept us busy for the last five weeks and involved many other talented people. We want to extend our thanks to:

Jan Krenek, one of the top Web designers in the Czech Republic whose clients include top Czech companies, artists, and athletes.

Petr Streubel, who works with Jan and who completed all of the HTML programming. We have to say his work is amazing! XHTML strict code for the site is perfectly optimized and works flawlessly on a wide range of browsers including the infamous Internet Explorer 6.

Iyan Molen, from Indonesia, who created a custom WordPress template to seamlessly integrate our blog and make it a part of the main site.

Enjoy!

Yesterday, we received an e-mail from The Knot, a national wedding magazine and wedding planning website, informing us that we have been voted among the best wedding photographers in Georgia. At first, we thought it must be a trick aimed to take a bite out of our marketing budget, but when we called The Knot for more information, they laughed and confirmed the award was real and not connected with advertising. Brides in Georgia simply voted for our studio.

We were thrilled! Our philosophy is not to avoid soliciting and coordinating any reviews with online wedding vendor directories or asking for testimonials for our site, so we are really happy that our clients have invested their time and shared about their experience with Slava Slavik Photography on The Knot website.

—
Update Dec. 7: We just got a Georgia edition of the Winter/Spring 2010 issue of The Knot.
Yippee! We are in! See page 18!

Welcome to our new wedding photography blog!

We hope you can join us regularly here for interesting and entertaining information about a topic that we’re passionate about: capturing unique and beautiful images of one of the most memorable days in our private lives. After few years in wedding photography in Atlanta, we think we might have some interesting insights to share.

Our main goal is to show some of the photographs we take at our weddings and other assignments. We also plan to share a bit of knowledge with our friends and peers and perhaps answer some of your questions – whether you’re a client, you’re looking for a photographer, or you’re involved in the photography or wedding business.

Check back regularly — and let us know what you think.

Yours,
Sara and Slava
